According to Power (1908, 29) in Ballydoney there is 'a large circular cill or early church site which, bearing unfortunately no special name, is not marked at all on the Ordnance Maps', it is descibed as being close to Ballydoney castle (TS082-059----). This ecclesiastical enclosure is unlocated within Ballindoney West townland.
