East Buttress is a sea cliff composed primarily of Silurian-aged volcanic and sedimentary rocks, formed through ancient volcanic activity and subsequent erosion by the sea. It is notable for its steep, resistant rock face that contributes to the rugged coastal landscape of Cumberland.
