Earthwork in Steelaun

Earthwork

What is recorded here

In pasture, located on a low rise. A slightly raised, roughly square or possibly sub-circular area (14m NW-SE; 13.4m NE-SW) defined by a low degraded stony bank (Wth 1.9m; ext H 0.45m), largely reduced to a scarp. There is a slight dip in the centre of the interior. Concentrations of stone occur at the W and S corners, possibly as a result of field clearance. It is poorly preserved and difficult to interpret. There is an enclosure (MA015-079----) is 75m to SW. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 7 December 2018
