What is recorded here
Farranshone More still carries the buried shape of Castle Blake, though modern housing now covers the site marked on the 1938 map. The earthwork may have stood as a small defensive mound, a boundary marker, or a forgotten residence before the castle vanished from everyday sight. Whatever it was, the land remembers the shape even when the building no longer shows.
Earthwork or small mound depicted with hachures on the 1938 ed. OS 6-inch map, annotated 'Castle Blake or Farranshone (Site of)' (LI005-006002-) which marked the site of Castle Blake. Modern housing located in area marked on OS 6-inch map.
