What is recorded here

On E side of a trackway in low-lying grassland, 35m S of a small pond. A round-topped grass-covered earthen mound (N-S 12m, E-W 12m, H 2m) in fair condition. Though its E and S sides are much degraded, it appears to have been originally square in plan and was probably stepped in profile: two 'steps', 0.8m high, survive along W and N faces. Possibly a landscape feature or a wayside monument. II - North Galway'.
