Durlston Castle Historic Landscape

Registered park or garden

What is recorded here

Durlston Castle Historic Landscape occupies a narrow Dorset headland where Purbeck stone rises beside the sea. The castle, chart, globe and quarries still mark the edge of Swanage, while the land holds the shape of hands that moved earth and cut rock. It is not a polished display but a lived margin, where the coast keeps the facts and memory fills the gaps.
The National Heritage List for England records Durlston Castle Historic Landscape as a registered park or garden at Grade II. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
