Dupplin Castle, Icehouse stands as a 19th Century structure in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. Built to capture winter cold for summer comfort, it reveals how much trouble wealthy people took to avoid warm beer and melting butter. The castle could afford such nonsense because it controlled land and labour. Even decayed, the icehouse proves that comfort often belongs to those who can afford to waste.
