Dunwalloght Castle

Archaeological place

What is recorded here

Dunwalloght Castle in Cumberland is a phantom, an archaeological place with no date, no shape and no proof beyond a boundary line on a map. The castle exists only because a survey pencil drew it into being, yet that thin ink still forces the land to carry a name it never earned.
Date uncertain, could be post medieval. conjectured to be the remains of Dunwalloght castle, but there is not the least evidence in support of this assumption-Except OS maps it seems
