What is recorded here
Dunagoil Bay features sandstone and limestone cliffs formed during the Carboniferous period, around 300 to 360 million years ago, through sedimentary deposition in shallow marine environments. The area is notable for its coastal erosion processes and potential fossil content, typical of the geological formations found in western Scotland.
