What is recorded here
Duiggal Burial Ground is an ancient death place in County Galway, though no visible monument or clear history survives to mark it. The land may still hold bones, forgotten prayers and buried lives beneath ordinary soil. People walked past it, forgot it or never knew it at all. What is missing is not emptiness, but a layer of life that stopped being spoken about.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
