What is recorded here

Two long stone chambers face each other across a narrow gap in the Ballymarlagh field, a dual court tomb built during the Neolithic period. People may have carried dead between the chambers or watched the sky tilt above the opening at the change of seasons. The stones have stood through every human life in that valley, waiting for hands warm enough to touch them again.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as DUAL COURT TOMB. Recorded period: NEOLITHIC; PREHISTORIC. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
