Drummeen Castle stands ruined in Ballycarroll, County Clare, a hall-house reduced to ghosts rather than a tower proud enough to resist time. It is the kind of place where clarity leaves you alone with the shape of what is gone.

Drummeen Castle was built in the 16th century by a local Gaelic family, likely of the MacNamara clan, who held lands in the Ballycarroll area. It is remembered as an example of a typical tower house used for defence during a period of political and military instability in the region.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
