What is recorded here
On a steep S-facing slope overlooking a shelf on the S-facing slope of Corrie Mountain. Marked similarly on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Rectangular slab (dims. 1.4m x 0.9m; T 0.6-0.75m) with a flat upper surface supported by a triangular base of stones (dims. 1.8m x 1.4m). The structure has a straight SE edge (H 1-1.5m) and a metal crucifix with some offerings lie on the upper stone. It was regarded as a megalithic structure (Borlase 1897, vol. 1, 196) but this can be discounted (de Valera and O'Nuallain 1972, 41). The possible mass-rock (RO002-001001-) is c. 5m to the E.
