Site of draw bridge which connected small island, containing O'Sullivan Beare Castle (CO126-012001-), to the mainland. Twelve rock-cut steps on mainland side lead down to a rocky ledge. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
