Dornoch, 2 Castle Street, Sule Skerry

Semi Detached House (19th Century)

What is recorded here

Sule Skerry occupies number two on Castle Street in Dornoch, an early nineteenth-century stone house that later sheltered Castle Hotel staff and a gardener's family. It is no longer a pair of separate homes because the doorway between the main house and Honeysuckle Cottage was opened after the grandfather died in 1976. The building still carries that change: a hotel kitchen, a vegetable garden, a wooden garage and several human households have all left their shape inside the same walls.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Dornoch, 2 Castle Street, Sule Skerry as Semi Detached House (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
