What is recorded here

Situated on sloping pasture above the Owendoher river valley. A single chambered tomb facing NW is formed by a massive granite roofstone (L 6.3m; Wth 3.15m; D 1.3m) which rests on a broken portal (H 2.44m). The other portal lies close by (L 4.4m; Wth 1.1m) (Borlase 1897, 2, 282-5; Ó Nualláin 1983, 82, 90; Turner 1983, No. 6). Portal dolmen; likely dates to the Neolithic or early Bronze Age. Its massive granite capstone and portal stones reflect early megalithic construction techniques and the significance of such tombs in prehistoric funerary and ceremonial practices.
