Dodman Point Cross

In the firm hope of the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and for the encouragement of those who strive to serve him, this cross was erected AD 1886

Erected in 1886, Dodman Point Cross is a prominent Anglican war memorial and religious landmark on the Isle of Wight, commemorating those who died in World War I and reflecting the Victorian and Edwardian era's emphasis on faith and remembrance. It was designed by Sir Robert Lorimer and funded by public subscription, symbolising both local and national devotion during a time of profound social and spiritual uncertainty.
