What is recorded here

Situated in a slight fold on a NW-facing slope overlooking the N-S Blackwater river, c. 350m to the NW. Land at Dloughtan was owned by Sir Nicholas Walsh of Ballykeeroge (WA023-035001-) in 1641, but there is no record of a castle or house (Simington 1942, 31). This is a five-bay, two storey house with bay-windows, and three bays deep. It dates from c. 1830, but a three-bay single storey over basement return to the E dates from c. 1780.
