Dimlands stood as a small Tudor castle on the Glamorgan coast until fire consumed the main house in 1948, leaving only the lodge behind. The Nicholl family held the land since Henry VII, and the site once belonged to Iestyn ap Gwrgant, the last Welsh ruler of Morgannwg. Wyatt died there in 1877 after leasing the home, while the fields still carry the old name Caer Wrgan.
