What is recorded here

Diarmait Ua Briain died in Cork in 1118 after losing a brutal four-year struggle for Munster to his brother Muirchertach Ua Briain. He had commanded Irish fleets abroad, broken sacred oaths to seize power, and fathered sons who inherited the partitioned land.
