What is recorded here

Derwent Pencil Museum is located in Keswick, Cumbria, and traces its origins to the 1830s when the pencil-making industry began in the area, utilising local graphite from the Borrowdale mines. It is important as it preserves the history of pencil production and the industrial heritage of the region, once a major centre for graphite processing in Europe.
