Derryquin Castle

Ruins

What is recorded here

Melted castle walls still stand in Derryquin, their battlements broken but recognizable, beside a pitch and putt course laid over the old garden. The castle itself appeared before 1772, burned in 1922, and was demolished in 1969, leaving this walled courtyard and pavilion as what remains visible. What is lost is easier to imagine than what survived: rooms, doors, gardens, fires, and the people who used them.
Derryquin Castle is recorded as a ruins in County Kerry. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
