What is recorded here

Rubble stone demesne walls, built c.1840. Vertically aligned rubble stone fabric with regularly spaced vertical coping stones. Set along roadside and through fields.
This enclosing wall is an interesting reminder of the extent of the Castle Freke and Rathbarry demesnes. These walls were once uninterrupted for many kilometres and remain in an excellent state of repair with only minor areas of collapse and interruption.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
