Marino MartShop/retail outlet · 80 ydExplorer Tom Marino Mart is a purpose-built commercial development with residential accommodation over, designed by Donnelly, Moore and Keating for the expanding suburb of Marino. It has an angled bay that addresses the corner with some serious confidence. Walk past and pretend you know what 'breakfront' means; I don't either.
Explorer Tom Electricity substation on Clontarf Road was built around 1895 and thinks it’s very important for the trams. It has decorative cast-iron rainwater goods, which is a bit much for something that just handles electricity. It’s standing at a junction, looking very confident about its role in the city’s power grid.
Children's playground268 ydComputer-made picture. It does not show this playground.Explorer Tom Children's playground in County Dublin is napping under the big tree. Shh, don’t wake it, or the sandcastle empire will collapse into dust.
BiaHero Community GardenGarden · 431 ydComputer-made picture. It does not show this garden.Explorer Tom BiaHero Community Garden is definitely where the beer heroes go to grow their hops in peace, away from the thirsty crowds. It’s probably full of very relaxed plants that don’t care about your opinions. Toast the vegetables with me!
London Plane474 ydExplorer Tom London Plane in County Dublin is playing hide-and-seek with my curiosity. It’s got that fancy trunk look, so pretend you’re a lost aristocrat and nobody will check your credentials.
Explorer Tom The Seán Russell Memorial Statue in Fairview Park was once painted with a rainbow base, which is very on-brand for Dublin. He looks serious now, but he used to be colorful. Get that shot!
East Point Business ParkVisitor information · 666 ydExplorer Tom East Point Business Park is a visitor information centre? Who visits a business park for fun? Probably just lost accountants and very confused tourists. Ask them if the coffee is still hot.
Clontarf Castle HotelVisitor information · 1.0 miExplorer Tom Clontarf Castle Hotel has been around since 1936, so it's seen better days and definitely worse weather. The picture shows it looking a bit tired, so maybe the ghost of the original owner is just napping in the lobby.
Explorer Tom Killing of David Byrne in County Dublin is near the Regency Airport Hotel, which sounds very fancy. The death happened close to a main route. Take a pic of the hotel and pretend you’re checking in for good.
1974 Dublin and Monaghan Bombings MemorialMonument · 1.3 miExplorer Tom This monument for the 1974 bombings stands on Talbot Street. Thirty-three people died that day, which was the worst loss during The Troubles.
Explorer Tom Burning of the Custom House in County Dublin was a bargain gone wrong with fire involved. It looks dramatic from a distance, which is good for photos. Stand back, squint, and it looks like a castle.
Chinese Toon1.7 miExplorer Tom Chinese Toon in County Dublin would rate its visitors two stars out of five for lack of appreciation. It smells amazing but acts like you owe it rent for breathing the air around it. Linger, it's not going anywhere and neither should you.
