Off shore island located 0.5km W of Rossbrin Cove, to S of Ballydehob village. Intermittent copper mining 1814-1901 saw exploration of "Danes Works" and "Danes Lodes"; reported discovery of wooden implements of unknown date. No extant primitive workings or stone mauls. (O'Brien 1987) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
