What is recorded here

Horse Island in County Cork, Ireland, held a temporary mining camp where men followed a visible vein through rock and water. The settlement may have contained rudimentary shelters, tool storage and communal cooking areas, all built to support relentless physical labour. Its absence from common memory does not diminish the intensity of the work or the vulnerability of the people who performed it.
