What is recorded here

Half a metre of grey rock stands eight metres east of the Donagh burial enclosure, wearing one deep cup on its east face like a thumbprint from a forgotten god. The church and its dead have watched that mark for generations, yet no name belongs to the hand that struck it. Perhaps a child pressed a ring into wet clay before firing, or a maker tested the depth of a tool on raw stone. The cup still holds shadow at noon, waiting for someone to ask what it measured.

Located c. 8m E of the burial enclosure on the site of the parish church of Donagh (MO007-007001-) is a stone (dims 0.51m x 0.13-0.16m; H 0.23-0.26m) set up as a headstone with a single cup-mark (diam. 0.1m; D 2.5cm) on its E face.
