What is recorded here
Crushnaleanve is a hidden burial ground at a West Cork crossroads, remembered only because the land still belongs to the dead. It has no marker, no boundary and no visible trace, yet it keeps its claim in the absence of proof. People may have stopped at that junction, listened for permission and carried what they knew elsewhere. The crossroads still asks whether you see what is missing.
At crossroads. No visible surface trace.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
