Crossnalanniv marks a child burial ground at the crossing of four roads in County Cork, recorded on maps from 1842. Local tradition holds that unbaptised children were laid to rest beneath the grass, while the field south of the junction was called the kill field. No graves remain visible, but the names preserve a brutal childhood world in which innocence, loss and land use still entangle one another.

Named 'Crossnalanniv Burial Ground for Children' on 1842 OS 6-inch map; named 'Crossnalanniv' on 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. Patch of grass at centre of cross of four roads. No visible evidence for burials. Known locally as burial place for unbaptised children and tillage field to S of cross roads called "the kill field".
