Gallen Priory in County Offaly lost a chambered tomb and half its cross-slab before humans could witness the whole shape. The surviving section in Newtown preserves the lower cross, its T-shaped ends and ribbon border, while the missing upper half continues the same line into unseen distance. What is absent is not nothing; it is the part the chamber keeps from ordinary memory.

This cross-slab is likely from the early medieval period, possibly Christian, indicating the presence of a local religious or memorial tradition. The T-shaped cross terminations suggest a regional or symbolic variation in early Christian iconography.
