Inishcaltra Holy Island in County Clare still holds a broken twelfth-century cross-slab near the south and west graveyard walls. The surviving stone measures about 1.67m by 0.76m, bears a Latin cross with hollowed angles, and loses its lower left portion to time. It stands as a quiet fragment of sacred memory, perhaps marking a buried life or a forgotten vow.

Situated in the SW quadrant of the ‘Saint’s graveyard’ (CL029-009030-) on Inis Cealtra (8.3m from the S wall and 2.5m from the W wall). Noted by Macalister (1916-17, 156, no. 50) as of ‘twelfth-century type’ and described as a slab measuring 5ft 6in (1.67m) by 2ft 6in (0.76m), with a Latin cross with hollowed angles and the lower shaft angled outwards to form a base.
