Inishcaltra, also called Holy Island, holds a cross-slab in the eastern half of its old graveyard. The stone measures 1.65 metres long and 0.58 metres wide, with a single-line cross cut near the western edge. Its arms do not meet the shaft at a perfect right angle, as if the carver worked quickly or the stone resisted. It still stands between older marked graves, quiet and slightly crooked, waiting to be remembered.

Situated in the E half of the ‘Saint’s graveyard’ (CL029-009030-) on Inis Cealtra. This slab (L 1.65m; Wth 0.58m) is not depicted on Macalister’s plan of the graveyard (1916-17, pl. XV) but it lies between his no. 46 (CL029-009082-) and no. 51 (CL029-009087-),12.2m from the N wall and 4.06m from the E wall of the graveyard. There is an incised single-line cross near the edge of the slab at the W end. The line of the arms of the cross is not quite at right-angles to the shaft. Probably dating to the early Christian period (5th–9th centuries), the cross-slab likely served a funerary or commemorative function, reflecting the site's association with monastic or saintly tradition. Local folklore may link it to Inis Cealtra's reputation as a holy island, traditionally believed to have been a monastic settlement founded by St. Cronan.
