What is recorded here
Dromdoohig More is a cross-inscribed stone in County Kerry, Ireland. A tall rectangular stone stands upright in pasture near the top of a ridge, marked on one face with a small circled cross whose shaft drops into a T-shaped end. The nearby standing stone suggests the ridge once carried more than grass and rain, perhaps a boundary, a memorial or a place where people stopped to be seen by something larger.
In pasture, on a level area towards the top of a ridge. This upright free-standing stone (dims. 1.15m x 0.6m; H 1.7m) is rectangular in shape and plan and orientated N-S. A small simple linear cross (shaft: L c. 7cm; arms: L c. 4.5cm) enclosed by a circle (diam. c. 5.5cm) occurs on the S face of the stone. The shaft extends down outside the circle and ends in a T-shaped terminal. A standing stone (KE058-140----) is c. 86m to the E.

Likely dating to the early Christian period (5th–10th century AD), the cross-inscribed stone may have served as a Christian memorial or waymarker. Such stones are often associated with local saints or early monastic activity, though specific folklore or use in later periods is not recorded.
