What is recorded here
Tobernacrusha/Tobar na Croise: This well lies a short distance E of the village and is now contained within a concrete structure. Rounds were formerly made here for the purpose of curing sick cattle (OSM) and there was also a cross-inscribed stone KE051-004001- at the well (An Seabhac 1939, 81).
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 940. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
