Cross-inscribed pillar in Eochaill (bar. Árainn)

This cross-inscribed limestone pillar (H 1.27m; base Wth 0.14m, tapering to 0.09m at top), supported by a number of loose boulders at its base, is to the ESE of St Soorney’s Well (GA110-082001-). It bears a single-line grooved Latin cross on its NW face. The arms of the cross run to the edge of the pillar and there is a subcircular area at the head of it; the shaft tapers gradually to a point (Higgins 1987, vol. 2, 280, no. 11).
