Summerhill Demesne still holds the cross near Lynch’s castle, though it may have stood elsewhere before men moved it into view. The stone has survived every claim of ownership because it refuses to be owned. It marks the place where human certainty ends and memory begins.

The cross now set up in Summerhill village (ME043-020001-) might not have come from far away as it could have been at the N entrance to Summerhill Demesne and Lynch’s castle (ME043-021----), but is precise original location is not known.
