What is recorded here

Thirty-four centimetres of broken stone lies prostrate in the Monks' Graveyard, its slight arms reaching across soil that has swallowed names. The head is gone, the body flattened, yet the cross still marks the centre of a place where death was made ordinary. What it pointed to has dissolved into rain and memory, leaving only the shape of devotion behind.

Cross described in 1996 as follows; 'This small stone cross stands towards the centre of the Monks' Graveyard [KE104A001046-] H: 0.34m W: 0.31m T: 0.04m' (O'Sullivan and Sheehan 1996, 289, no. 948 (65)). The cross now lies prostrate in this location and features slightly projecting arms and a broken head. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
