What is recorded here

No monastery remains, only the Monks' Graveyard and this small cross at its edge. The stone is rough, flat-headed and no taller than a kneeling man's chest. It may have marked a burial, a boundary or a prayer forgotten before writing arrived. In that absence the cross becomes a listener, waiting for someone to remember what it pointed toward.

Stone cross described in 1996 as follows: ''This rough stone cross stands on the Monks' Graveyard [KE104A001046-], close to its SW side. H: 0.37m. W: 0.44m. T: 0.1m)' (O'Sullivan and Sheehan 1996, 289, no. 948 (41)). This cross has a flat head and two short arms. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
