Cross in Sceilg Mhichíl

The high cross at Sceilg Mhichíl was likely built by early medieval Christian monks, probably between the 7th and 9th centuries, and is associated with the monastic settlement dedicated to St Michael. Its style reflects Insular art traditions, and the site as a whole is of significant historical and archaeological importance as a major early Christian center.
