What is recorded here
One of two plain cruciform stones stands in the old graveyard at the southeast end of Inisbofin, likely belonging to the island’s early monastic community. The stone has no visible carving, yet its shape and setting preserve the quiet presence of that lost religious life. It still marks the edge of the island where worship, memory and burial once formed a single place.
Located in the graveyard (GA009D014002-) associated with the early monastic foundation at the SE end of Inisbofin Island. This is one of two crosses (see also GA009D014012-) recorded by Higgins (1987, ii, 423, no. 129) who described them as plain cruciform-shaped stones possibly of early Christian date.
