One of two plain cruciform stones stands in the old graveyard at the SE end of Inisbofin Island, likely dating from its early Christian monastery. The bare cross shape offers no carved story, only the weight of age and the memory of burials beside sacred ground. It is the kind of place where silence does more work than ornament, and the sea wind keeps the stones company.

Located in the graveyard (GA009D014002-) associated with the early monastic foundation at the SE end of Inisbofin Island. This is one of two crosses (see also GA009D014013-) recorded by Higgins (1987, ii, 423, no. 128) who described them as plain cruciform-shaped stones possibly of early Christian date. The high cross at Knock, Inisbofin, was likely erected in the 9th or 10th century by a monastic community associated with the early Christian site on the island. It is carved in the Insular style and may be dedicated to a local saint, reflecting the religious and artistic traditions of early medieval Ireland.
