What is recorded here

An unsteady stone cross stands at the east end of a leacht beside Templesaghtmacree in County Galway. Its broken arm is repaired with cement, marking a place where human hands kept returning to hold the shape intact. The small disc at its centre and the incised Latin lines suggest prayer, warning or remembrance, though the exact words have faded.

This cross (H 0.68m; armspan Wth 0.43m) has been placed on the E end of a leacht (GA119-081002-), which lies immediately to the S of 'Templesaghtmacree' (GA119-081001-). It is cruciform in outline with a solid disc at the junction of its arms and shaft. A two-line Latin cross is incised on its E face. A break in the slab has been repaired with cement (Higgins 1987, vol. 2, 325, no. 51).
