Explorer Tom Rashiel Sike has had so many former names it could write its own autobiography. It’s a field system that looks like it’s been patched up and re-dug more than once. The landscape here feels layered, like a palimpsest of human ambition and error. Go back in winter, it's a different animal.
Explorer Tom Perterburn got lost looking for Vikings who were actually just looking for a good place to park their longships and grab a coffee. The whole saga was a mess of maps and bad directions, honestly speaking, and nobody really knows why anymore. Have a sandwich here and call it a heritage lunch.
Explorer Tom Whita Hill has a cairn that the local sheep think is a very expensive rock they’re not allowed to eat. It’s unassigned in period, which means it’s been standing there while the world changed around it. The sheep have their own opinion on it, mostly involving chewing on the edges. Stop the car, it's worth the hazard lights.
Explorer Tom Howgillcleuch is a farmstead with a name that rolls off the tongue like a slippery potato, and the local sheep have formed an opinion committee about its architectural choices. They think it’s too boxy for their taste and have started grazing in patterns to express their disapproval. Bring someone who'll believe anything.
