Cripiau Bwlch-glas is a sea cliff composed of Silurian greywacke and mudstone, formed around 440–420 million years ago through sedimentation and subsequent tectonic uplift. The cliff is notable for its exposure of ancient marine sediments that provide insight into the geological history of the Welsh Caledonides.
