Crinnis Island is a small coastal rock feature located off the coast of Cornwall, composed primarily of Cornish granite, which is around 280 to 290 million years old (Late Carboniferous to Early Permian period). The island formed as part of a larger intrusive igneous body that cooled and solidified deep underground before being exposed by erosion and sea action; it is notable for its durability and the insight it provides into the region's granitic geology.
