What is recorded here

Crannog in Lough Ramor is a small roughly circular island about 17 metres across, sitting 90 metres from the shoreline in County Cavan. It appeared as Stones on Ordnance Survey maps in 1836 and 1876, marking a place old enough to be surveyed twice before modern records began. The distance from land is far enough to deny casual entry and close enough to suggest deliberate use. A crannog is not a mistake of geography; it is a choice made visible in water.
