Crannog in Lough Gara is a crannog in Lough Gara, County Sligo, Ireland. Drainage works in 1991 exposed a small section 2.7 metres north-south and 8.7 metres east-west in a marshy inlet on the east shore. The site contained a tightly packed spread of undressed limestone and red sandstone blocks, each 0.1 to 0.4 metres across, surrounded by a 1.3 metre wide band of post-holes 0.1 to 0.2 metres across. Small strips of wood, some burnt, and hazelnuts lay in the sand and marl around the stones, but no remains are visible now.

In a small marshy inlet, on the E shores of Lough Gara. Discovered in 1991 during monitoring of drainage works at the foreshore (Wren 1991) when a small section (2.7m N-S; 8.7m E-W) was exposed. Described as a tightly packed spread of undressed limestone and red sandstone blocks (dims. 0.1-0.4m) surrounded by a 1.3m wide band of post-holes (diam. 0.1-0.2m) (ibid.). The blocks were set in a rough concentration with a definite edge evident at NW and small strips of wood (some burnt) and hazelnuts were found in the sand and marl around the stones (Wren 1991). There are now no visible remains of this crannog.
