Crannog in Lough Carra is a submerged failed island in County Mayo, Ireland, marked by four stone cairns and more than twenty timber posts still standing in the lake bed. People built it, abandoned it before finishing, and the water took the rest. Local tradition says a dug-out canoe was removed from the site, suggesting the place still gives up pieces of itself when someone asks.

In centre of reed bed; N of crannóg (MA110-036----), SW of Lakeview Island. Site (32m N-S; 27m E-W) entirely submerged; appears to have been abandoned during construction. Four artifical cairns of stone (two on S, one on E and one on W); interspaced by smaller stones along lake bed. Cairns enclosed E to W by more than twenty timber posts (H 1.3m) set into lake bed.
