Knocknalappa holds a crannog, an artificial island built above water rather than left behind by rising seas. That choice suggests purpose: a home, shrine or refuge raised into the lake instead of abandoned to it. The water closed around the edge, leaving the centre clear for life. Forgetting the name does not undo the shape; the lake still repeats the decision to keep one place dry.
