Crannog in Derryhoo was a small square island ten metres from the shore in Drummany Lough, County Cavan, marked on Ordnance Survey maps in 1836 and 1876. The lake has since fallen enough to drown the crannog in marsh, erasing the water that once made it an island. Whatever lives or memories occupied that little square of land now sink into reeds and wet earth, forgotten but not gone.
